Top 10 books about technology

Posted on 10:52 by riya

  1. Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
It is considered as one of the most read self self-titled Biography ever written in technology genre. Every person who can operate a computer is familiar with the name of Steve Jobs as the founder of Apple Inc. Walter Isaacson has also written biographies for Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein. It took forty interviews of Steve Jobs himself and about 100 interviews of close colleagues and family to create this extraordinary analysis and tale of his life

  1. The Facebook Effect by David Kirkpatrick
Most people have watched the movie called “The Social Network” (if you haven’t watched this movie yet, consider this to be added on your watch list). Some have read the book “Accidental Billionaires”. A few read the Facebook effect and those are the ones who got the experience of an in-depth real story. Read this book to get a bigger picture about the history of Facebook and its social implications.

  1. The New New Thing by Michael Lewis
New York best seller in which writer discovers a man, whose achievements are beyond impressive. So get on the quest to find and meet world’s most important technology entrepreneur with Michael Lewis (not jeremy mihael lewis, in case you were wondering)

  1. Accidental Empires by Robert X. Cringely
This one is my personal favorite and I couldn’t resist adding it here. The underlying theme is similar to that of Accidental billionaires but discusses technology more than personality and events. Who says technology is boring? The complete title is self explanatory enough:
“Accidental Empires: How the Boys of Silicon Valley Make Their Millions, Battle Foreign Competition, and Still Can't Get a Date”

  1. The Innovators by Walter Isaacson
Hello there, the geeky person behind the screen! You can be the next inventor. This is a story about How a Group of Inventors, Hackers, Geniuses and technology Geeks Created the Digital Revolution. This book will help boost your morale and give you the exact motivation that you needed. This captivating book is impossible to be put down.

  1. The Singularity is Nearby Ray Kurzweil
The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology is a eloquently written by a masterful author Ray Kurzweil. The combination of human intelligence and machine has been a debat and a fantasy for a long time. The author of this bestselling book is a strong advocate when it comes down to this matter. He discussed human intelligence and artificial side by side, in a way that captures your attention right from the first page and keeps it rising till the very last word.

  1. The Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku
The thought provocative book with interviews of over three hundred researchers opens our mind to possibilities existing in future. Reading this, we come to know that it is strongly likely that we’ll soon be controlling computers and other machineries with our brain using tiny minuscule brain nerves and signals. Mind controlling will be a technology. It won't be a part of stories anymore.

  1. Work Rules by Laszlo Bock
The title also includes “Insights from Inside Google That Will Transform How You Live and Lead”. Do you know google receives approx 1500000 applications but only a few land their dream job. This book will show you the hiring process, rejections reason, and whatever goes on in the inside that you weren’t familiar to. Read the secrets revealed in this book to actually Transform How You Live and Lead.

  1. World War 3.0 by Ken Auletta
World War 3.0 describe the implications of a digital war of technology of Microsoft with it’s enemies. US Government might be possibly involved with that too. The book tells how Microsoft handled the case of Netscape with respect to all individuals that were involved with that case in any sort. This book really is worth reading.

  1. Rise of the Robots by Martin Ford
Keeping up with the pace of advancements in technology has been getting difficult with every passing day. Artificial intelligence is gaining importance. People are switching from cleverbot to Siri. Everything that was previously shown in fantasy movie is now possible because of technology. This often leaves us wondering that will robots take over one day. Will humans be jobless? Read this intriguing book to find out our future and its complications.
